Eroski sells 36 hypermarkets to Carrefour

Eroski, the Basque distribution group, has reached an agreement for the sale of a package of 36 hypermarkets to the distribution chain Carrefour for a maximum amount of 205 million euros.
The sale, which is included into the Eroski’s Strategic Plan, is expected to have a positive impact on the group’s profitability in the medium term.
The stores included in this transaction are: hypermarkets in Algeciras, Antequera, Ceuta, Fuengirola, Roquetas de Mar and Velez-Malaga in the southern Spain.
In the Mediterranean area, hypermarkets in Aguilas, Amposta, Cornellá, Cullera, Denia, two in Lorca, Murcia, Ondara, Orihuela, Sa Coma, San Javier, Sant Cugat, Santa Pola, Son Cotoner and Terrasa. In the eastern part of Spain, the hypermarkets in Huesca and Jaca and the Cantabrian coast, Lalin, Lugones, Mieres and Santander.
In the central Spain, hypermarkets of Albacete, Ciudad Real, Cuenca, Logroño, Manzanares, Valladolid, Segovia and Zamora. The operation also involves the transfer of 22 petrol stations and 8 commercial galleries associated with these properties.
